Hiker Chiu is the first person to disclose their intersex status and share intersex issues in a positive way in Chinese-speaking societies. Hiker is also the founder of Oii-Chinese in 2008, and will speak at a series of events around Intersex Awareness Day 2015.
Free hugs with intersex
Hiker Chiu came out and initiated “Global Free Hugs with Intersex Movement” to raise intersex awareness since 2010 in the 8th Taipei Pride Parade. Taipei Pride Parade is the biggest pride parade in Taiwan and also Asia.
Hiker Chiu has started to share his/her personal story almost 200 times since 2009. It is always welcomed by young generations to learn about intersex people and issues in a positive way and raising intersex awareness around the world.
During this month, Hiker Chiu is invited to share his/her personal story and recent progress from UN on intersex human rights issues. S/he will bring the story of IAD to celebrate 2015 “Intersex Awareness Day” in Taiwan.
